March 2025

I’d like to tell you where I’ve been. But grief is hard and weird and getting it all down on paper tears open wounds that’ve only just started to heal. I wanted to pick up where I left off in this space, but instead I think we’re going to work backwards.

March was relatively quiet. I started experimenting with new jellyfish styles in my paintings. Opened the box of watercolor crayons too and realized I missed making more abstract art and vowed to keep exploring it.

The best movie I watched during this month was “Kwaidan.” One of my favorite horror podcasts (Random Number Generator Horror Podcast No. 9) had done an episode about it; as I started listening, I realized it was right up my alley and should really watch it before I continued with the episode. It was a technicolor dream! Also if, like me, you love a good spooky fairytale/fable? You’ll be in heaven. Every frame is a painting, a veritable feast for your eyes to gorge upon. 8.9 out of 10 mysterious men in water reflections.
