April 2024

After the excitement at the end of March with our mini-family reunion, I spent a lot of time getting back into the usual routines, especially painting again—I have so many flowers I want to paint from my trip and have seen even more amazing jellyfish in my recent research and am just generally feeling inspired!

The Flames came to town once again, so you know we had to make the short trip over to SJ to watch them beat the Sharks—and my favorite hockey player was between the pipes which made it that much sweeter! Bunny and I also went back to Mudai for Ethiopian—I’m not often a restaurant repeater because I’m always dying to try new-to-me places and new experiences but their food is incredible; their injera in particular is so sour-fermented delicious that I have remarked more than once that I wish I could shrink myself down and wrap it around me like a blanket.

I did catch two films in theaters before the month’s end—‘Abigail’ which was quite silly and fun, and ‘Civil War’ which I’d really like to talk about separately because it made a very strong impression on me.

You know me though, I often… wander off.
