The first half of November was quiet. I do my best not to fold in on myself during this time of year, but as the daylight hours become fewer and nights get ready to reach winter peak, I always find myself mostly unsuccessful.
The second half of November was dominated by a Northern California Tour, as Brother G finally came out to visit our home! Modesto, Sacramento, Lodi, Monetery and just about everywhere of note in between, we tried to cram as much in as possible—I’d say we did a pretty thorough job!
We somewhat deviated from our usual Thanksgiving Routine by serving a pretty traditional menu. The last picture is of the full duck we ordered the day before from the Vietnamese restaurant down the street; while I love traditional Thanksgiving sides, I fucking hate turkey with a fiery passion. So no turkey on my table.
I was planning to spend this weekend getting the house in the decorated Holiday spirit, but was unexpectedly struck down with a case by food poisoning from a local Italian joint. What about you? Are you ready for the holidays? Or running behind like me?
